Ballast
Delivery
Heavy goods, delivered properly. Ballast Blocks ship on pallets across the UK mainland, with next working day delivery on most in-stock orders placed before 4pm.
How delivery works
Concrete is heavy, so orders go out on pallets through the same courier network that delivers Gala Tent across the country every day. Here is what to expect.
See the full range and prices, browse what the blocks are used for, or read our weighting and anchoring guides.
- In-stock orders placed before 4pm, Monday to Friday, are usually dispatched for next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses.
- Offshore and harder-to-reach areas, such as the Scottish Highlands and islands and Northern Ireland, take a little longer and may carry a surcharge, which we confirm before dispatch.
- You will get an email when your pallet is dispatched.
- Delivery is included in the price we quote, so you see the full delivered cost before you commit.
- We can deliver to a site, venue or storage address, not only your billing address.
Pallet delivery and access
A pallet of concrete is not a doorstep parcel, so a little planning makes the delivery go smoothly.
- A pallet delivery is attempted once free of charge. If it fails because there is no one to accept it, a re-delivery fee applies, so please be available at the first attempt.
- Make sure there is safe, firm access for a pallet vehicle, and enough people or equipment on site to move the blocks once they are off the pallet.
- The driver delivers to the kerb or a safe accessible point. Moving heavy blocks into their final position is down to you.
- Local to us? You are welcome to collect and save the delivery cost.
Delivery questions
How soon will I get my order?
For in-stock blocks going to a UK mainland address, orders placed before 4pm Monday to Friday are usually delivered the next working day. Timings can stretch a little in peak periods or severe weather.
Do you deliver to the Highlands, islands or Northern Ireland?
Yes. Offshore and harder-to-reach areas take a little longer and may carry a surcharge for the pallet freight, which we confirm with you before dispatch so there are no surprises.
Can you deliver to an event site or venue?
Yes. We can send your pallet to a site, venue or storage address rather than your billing address. Just give us the delivery address and any access notes when you order.
What happens if I miss the delivery?
The pallet is attempted once free of charge. If there is no one to accept it, a re-delivery fee applies before a second attempt, so it pays to be available the first time.
Will the driver help me move the blocks?
The driver delivers to the kerb or a safe accessible point. The blocks are heavy, so please have enough people or equipment on site to move them into position once the pallet is down.
